Natracare was first launched in the UK in 1989 out of concern for the damaging effects to women’s health and the environment from dioxin pollution caused by chlorine bleaching, the extensive use of pesticide spraying on conventionally grown cotton, and the use of rayon and other synthetics in feminine hygiene. Natracare’s comprehensive range of natural and certified organic cotton products for women and babies includes 100% organic cotton tampons, organic sanitary pads, panty liners, new mother maternity pads, nursing pads and incontinence pads as well as organic cotton baby wipes, intimate wipes and COSMOS organic make up removal wipes. All of the products are totally chlorine free (TCF), and are made from sustainable and renewable materials.
These biodegradable feminine hygiene products are fully compostable, whereas traditional sanitary products are made from over 90% plastic, which is not biodegradable and so will remain for decades in our environment. Natracare products are Vegan Society approved, which certifies that Natracare products and the components used in them are never tested on animals.
Natracare tampons are made from only Soil-Association-certified, 100% organic cotton. The pads and liners are made from sustainable natural cellulose from ecologically-managed forests, and are free from plastics, perfumes, and super-absorbent chemicals.
Women suffering from skin allergies, irritation, and soreness may find their symptoms worsen around the time of their period. Studies have shown this can often be a reaction to the chemicals and synthetic materials in conventional feminine care products. Natracare products are therefore recommended by gynaecologists.
